Comfort Room

The comfort room is a separate room in the clinic set up with a more home like feeling. When a family is visiting a hospitalized pet we will often move the patient to this room for the visit. This allows the family to take their time with the visit in a more comfortable location.

This room is also used for final care appointments. Families can use this space to make those final moments with their pets as less stressful as possible. Your pet will be taken for a few minutes to the treatment room to have an intravenous catheter placed with an extension set. The pet is then brought back into the room to settle with the family. When everyone is ready, the final injection is made thru the extension set. The pet can therefore be in the owners arms and doesn't have the stress of being held by the veterinarians or technicians during the injection.

Euthanasia is one of the hardest parts of our job, but we want to do it with the utmost respect and compassion. We all understand first hand the importance of the human animal bond.
